'Small Bites for a Big Cause' is a friendly culinary competition showcasing High Country Grown chefs. They will be challenged to incorporate fresh, local ingredients into bite-sized hors d'oeuvres. Ticket holders will have the chance to taste each small bite and vote on their favorites. We'll also have three celebrity judges weighing in on their picks for best overall.
This year's theme is 'Shady Grove,' a traditional Appalachian Folk song dating back to the late eighteenth century. Widely recorded, one of the most famous versions was released by Doc Watson on his 1968 album "Doc Watson in Nashville: Good Deal!"
Competitors are encouraged to utilize Shady Grove and its lyrics to inspire their dish!
This year's event includes a second competition, Small Sips, featuring some of the High Country's best bartenders! Using the same theme, bartenders will mix a mocktail and a cocktail to pair with their chef's Small Bite.
