F.A.R.M. Cafe Production Coordinator


Background: F.A.R.M. Full Circle is a food recovery program designed to reduce waste and increase access of fruits and vegetables to the High Country community, regardless of means. Staff collect excess produce and food products from local grocers, producers, and farmers.  Weekly, all donated foods are transported to the F.A.R.M. Cafe kitchen and minimally processed into products which can be stored and distributed year-round. These include heat and eat meals, meal kits, baked goods, and frozen items. On a rotating schedule, Full Circle products are donated to receiving agency partners serving food insecure individuals in our community.  Additionally, F.A.R.M. Cafe offers grab and go products on a donate-what-you-can basis at the High Country Food Hub and area farmers markets.

Job Description
The production coordinator will oversee F.A.R.M. Full Circle’s weekly production cycle. This includes meal planning, creating high-quality products utilizing a wide variety of ingredients, and assisting with intake/distribution of food products. The coordinator will oversee volunteers during F.A.R.M. Full Circle and normal cafe production. Responsibilities will including packaging and labeling products according to best practices. The coordinator will plan and prepare value-added products for local food retail outlets. They will represent F.A.R.M. Cafe and its programs at off-site educational and outreach events. This role requires good communication, organizational, and leadership skills. A strong ability to work independently and as part of a team is required. This position is dynamic and will often overlap with day to day responsibilities at F.A.R.M. Cafe. An ideal candidate will be flexible and willing to learn various tasks contributing to the cafe’s operations.

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated, organized
  • Serv-Safe Certification or ability to acquire certification
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population
  • Ability to lift and carry fifty pounds
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and social media sites
  • Minimum of 2+ years kitchen experience
  • Management experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation

Job Type: Thirty to thirty-five hours per week. Some flexible hours, but Saturdays required.

Compensation: Starting at $15 per hour. Benefits include matching simple IRA, paid time off, paid sick leave.
