Job Description
The assistant chef will collaborate with the executive chef in the development of F.A.R.M. Cafe’s menu,
which changes daily to highlight local and seasonal ingredients. They must be able to execute recipes in a
timely and efficient manner to ensure meal quality. They will be responsible for daily produce orders,
coordination with the Executive Chef for large food and supply orders, receiving of goods, and supply
inventory. F.A.R.M. Cafe is a dynamic work environment. The assistant chef must be comfortable
supervising and training volunteers/employees from a wide variety of backgrounds, lived experiences,
and skill levels. Further, they must be able to oversee volunteers and ensure compliance with proper
sanitation standards. The assistant chef must maintain a knowledge of the cafe, its mission, and all
ongoing programs. They must be familiar with all positions of the cafe and be willing to assist, as
needed, during daily service.

Job Type: Year-round, full-time position.
Compensation: $32,000-$35,000 starting salary. Benefits include a matching simple IRA, PTO, and paid vacation following a six month probationary period.
